Welcome to this week’s edition of Platform Five – our regular look at the online tools and platforms that PR and social media agencies might want to keep an eye on.

This week’s post is headlined by a product called YouTube Create which allows you to create animated video content instantly.

  1. YouTube Create provides users with animation movie-making tools – Don’t be surprised if this move sparks an avalanche of animated content creation. YouTube has teamed up with three animation software providers enable editing and creation within the YouTube platform. Read more at ReelSEO.com.
  2. Buick Human Highlight Reel as part of March Madness – On the back of the NCAA Basketball tournament, car-maker Buick have launched a nifty site that calls on people to submit inspiring stories about NCAA athletes doing social good.
  3. TiltView serves up live video news aggregation – The best explanation of this comes direct from the TiltView about page: TiltView streams current news videos as TV. The service monitors news websites in real-time and brings you current and breaking news from all around the world. Pretty nifty.
  4. Color wants you to connect on the move via pictures – There has been a bunch of buzz around Color this week as it brings a blend of location-based technology and ‘picture-friending’ to iPhone and Android.   5. Thoughtbox.es combines mind-mapping with list-building (in color!) – The latest in a long line of tools to help organise your thinking online, thoughtbox.es is worth a try…even if it is just for the fun of it.
